CS2 Practice Host
Windows
CS2의 cfg 폴더에 설정 파일 몇 개(cs2host_change.cfg, cs2host_bind.cfg, gamemode_*_server.cfg)를 만듭니다.
Why your friends cannot join
You gather friends in a party, start Play → Practice, and only the host gets in. Everyone else is thrown out with "Could not connect to the game server."
It is a timing problem. When the host presses start, CS2 tells everyone in the party to connect — but the host's server needs one or two seconds to register with Steam and get an address. A friend who receives the signal before that tries to connect to an empty address, times out ten seconds later, and never retries.
That is why some attempts work and some do not. It has nothing to do with your firewall, your router, or port forwarding.
This tool skips the lobby. It brings the server fully up first, then hands you an address your friends can actually connect to.
The symptom, the cause, and how to fix it by hand in the console are also explained in a video. It is in Korean, but the console commands and log lines on screen are the same in any language.
How to use it
Host
- Open the app and pick mode, map and bots. Your choices are saved as you make them.
- Press the ▶ button. CS2 launches and the server opens.
- Once the server is up, the join link is copied for you. Send it to your friends.
- Press F10 in game to change map or mode. Friends who are already in stay in.
Your friend
- Clicks the link you sent.
- Presses Join the game on the page that opens.
- CS2 launches and goes straight into the server.
Nothing to install, and no need to turn on the developer console.
Always launch CS2 with the app's ▶ button.
If you start the game from Steam instead, the app cannot read the server address — the setting it needs is only attached when the app launches the game. When that happens, the strip at the top of the app turns yellow to tell you.
Things to know
- The server closes if the host returns to the menu. Everyone is disconnected, because the server runs inside the host's game. To change map or mode, do not leave the game — use F10.
- Bots on one team stop at "humans + 2". The game does not let one team outnumber the other by more than two. To get every bot you picked, set the bot team to "Mix both teams".
- Bot settings apply when a map loads. Changing them mid-round does nothing for that round. Change the map with F10 and the new settings come with it.
- Anyone who knows the address can join. Send it to friends only, not somewhere public.
- This is for practice. It has nothing to do with official modes such as Matchmaking or Premier.
FAQ
Windows shows a warning
The file is not code-signed. You can continue with "More info" → "Run anyway." In exchange, the source is public, and every release lists the SHA256 of the file.
Can this get my account banned?
The app does not read or write game memory, does not send keystrokes or mouse input, and does not modify game files. All it uses are official console commands, config files, launch arguments, and the log the game itself writes.
I already use F10 for something else
The app rebinds F10 to changing the map, overwriting your existing bind. To undo it, run unbind F10 in the game console and bind whatever you had back.
I sent the link but my friend cannot click it
Some chat apps do not turn it into a link. In that case use "Copy console address" in the app and send just the address — your friend can paste it into the box on the page instead.
My friend opened the link on a phone
CS2 is a PC game, so joining from a phone is not possible. The page detects this and asks them to open it on their PC.
What does this app create on my PC?
A few config files in the CS2 cfg folder (cs2host_change.cfg, cs2host_bind.cfg, gamemode_*_server.cfg). Each one starts with a line marking it as written by this app, and files without that mark are left alone. App settings are stored in %APPDATA%\CS2PracticeHost.
